Footbridge
We are keeping in touch with the First Selectman Matt Hoey and the Town Engineer Janice Plaziak, but there is no progress to report. We will invite them to meet with us at the next SHA Executive Board meeting in April.
Summer parking and traffic
We are working with the Sachem's Head Yacht Club to address access problems for those who typically park on lower Colonial Road. We have agreed that until the footbridge is re-opened, SHYC may run the launch to The Landing for pick-up and drop-off (except for the hour on either side of low tide). For the larger events, SHYC members may park at the tennis courts and walk to the club. This coming summer, please consider walking or biking to the club when possible so the nearby parking spaces can be used by neighbors with mobility challenges.
Important Dates
May 2 SHA clean-up day: Report to the parking lot at the tennis courts with rakes and trowels and shovels and other tools for gardening and repair tasks.
May 6 Bulk trash pick-up: Leave large items curbside the night before.
May 21 SHA Annual Budget Meeting: Join your neighbors at the Community Center at 7:30 pm for adoption of the FY2021 budget.
