The Sachem’s Head Association and the Town of Guilford have agreed on a regulation that allows registered golf carts to be driven on SHA roads. This new regulation was created in concert with the Guilford Police Commission and follows CT Statute 14-300g for the legal operation of golf carts in municipalities such as ours. If you have/drive a golf cart from your home, please open the attached documents and prepare your golf cart for inspection accordingly. Then, bring your cart, the application, and a check for $50 to SHA’s annual golf cart registration day, on the second or third Saturday in May from 8-10am. (Check with your Board to find out which Saturday) Please note that unregistered golf carts are no longer allowed on SHA roads, and golf carts of any type are presently not allowed on any other roads in Town.
The Guilford Police Department has the right to stop golf carts the same as they do with automobiles. If the Guilford Police Department determines that there are too many residents not complying with the regulation, they have reserved the right to rescind the regulation for the entire neighborhood. If this were to happen, all golf carts would be considered illegal on our roads. For the good of the other golf cart owners, we respectfully ask that you follow all golf cart rules as detailed in the attachments.
Please direct ALL COMMUNICATIONS to sachemsheadpresident@gmail.com. The Police officer will provide a fresh copy of the inspection/registration form for you to fill out and sign on inspection day. Don’t forget to bring your CT driver’s license, your insurance form, and a check for the $50 annual fee, payable to the Guilford Police Department.
