Social Distancing in SHA *
We owe it to ourselves and our families and our neighbors to take whatever steps are recommended by the CDC to prevent the spread of infection with COVID-19: social distancing (minimum six-foot separation), as well as frequent hand-washing, covering coughs and sneezes, avoiding non-essential trips out of the home, and wearing face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.
We urge you to maintain safe distances from others when exercising in our beautiful neighborhood or walking on the beach. Please observe restrictions for off-season use of Sachem's Head Yacht Club, including members only (no guests), no groups of more than five, foot traffic only, social distancing on the premises, and no boats on SHYC docks or moorings. In keeping with steps taken by the Town of Guilford to encourage social distancing, we will lock the SHA tennis and paddle courts.
If you need assistance with getting groceries or medication, contact our neighbors who have offered to help: Stacey Smith (staceyjane@mac.com), Maureen Velazquez (ctmjvhome@yahoo.com), and Heidi Smith (heidismithsummit@gmail.com).
STAY SAFE!
* Social Distancing in SHA--clarification and correction
Re use of docks and moorings: SHA docks at The Landing and Uncas Point can be used by SHA residents for pick-up and drop-off only; please observe social distancing guidelines at the dock. SHYC docks can be used by club members for pick-up and drop-off only; please observe social distancing guidelines at the dock. Once the moorings are in the water (sometime within the next month, according to the Harbor Manager), boaters should maintain social distancing while on the mooring or out on the water; do not raft up with others.
Re assistance for neighbors: Correct email address for Maureen Velazquez is ctmsvhome@yahoo.com.
