SHA Spring Clean-up May 4 

Join your neighbors on Saturday May 4 from 10 am - 12 noon!  We will refresh and repair SHA property at the beach, The Landing and Uncas Point.  Bring your own garden tools or tools from your workbench, and we'll put you to work!

SHA Bulk Trash Pick-up May 8

Do your own Spring clean-up!  American Carting will come by early Wednesday May 8 to pick-up large household items, etc. that are left curbside the night before.  Remember:  No hazardous waste (paint, batteries, chemicals, etc.) should be left out for pick-up.

SHA Budget Meeting May 23

The annual SHA budget meeting is scheduled for Thursday May 23 at 7:30 pm at the Guilford Community Center.  At this meeting, we will discuss and adopt a budget for the next fiscal year.  Expect a mailing in early May with the proposed budget and other SHA info, including forms for requesting kayak rack and dinghy dock space for Summer 2019.

SHA Traffic and Parking

Falcon Road: The Town has started repairs and expects to complete the work in 3-4 weeks, depending on the weather. Meanwhile, avoid Falcon Road if at all possible.  Use the beach parking lot for turning around, not Walden Hill Road (private road).   Speed limit:  Remember that the speed limit in SHA is 25 mph and drops to 15 mph on Prospect Avenue, Falcon Road, and lower Colonial Road.   The speed bumps on Colonial Road will be re-installed after the school buses finish their rounds in June.  Please remind your contractors about the speed limits.  As the weather warms up, there will be more cyclists and pedestrians and dog walkers out and about, so be mindful of their safety! Parking:  Lines have been repainted after road was chip-sealed by the Town last Fall.  Please observe parking restrictions.

SHA Evacuation Guidelines

Guidelines for preparation and evacuation in the event of a major storm have been posted on the SHA website.  There are instructions for registering your phones for alerts that the Town will send out in advance of extreme weather events.  Between hurricane season and nor-easters, the Northeast is now at risk for storms nearly year-round, so make sure you are ready!
